Hunting dall sheep is our specialty. We love chasing these beautiful white rams in the incredible alpine mountain habitat they call home. We can guide sheep hunts in the general/over-the-counter units of our guiding areas.
How we hunt sheep: We generally access our sheep hunting areas by hiking in, backpack style. We hike up to 12 miles just to reach our guiding areas and then hike many more miles beyond that to hunt. Consequently, clients who hunt sheep with us will need to be in exceptional physical and mental condition. Being in marathon running shape with the ability to hike in steep rocky country all day long with a heavy backpack is required. Experience in backpacking is also required as knowledge and understanding of how to safely keep pack weight to a minimum is essential. We sleep in floorless tents and eat dehydrated food. We keep gear and food on our backs and camp where the rams take us. We typically send each client with their own guide and a packer.
Currently, dall sheep hunts are in very high demand with very few legal rams out there. Consequently there is a long waiting list for the few sheep hunts we book each year. Contact me if you want to be placed on our sheep hunt waiting list.
